How to complete KYC1 in MPChat (OCR-assisted document verification)
Before you start
You will need:
A valid passport or government-issued ID (the supported list is shown on the verification screen for your country).
Your real face: a quick selfie liveness check is required at the end.

Step-by-step KYC1 flow
1. Open the entry. Go to Profile → Identity Verification → Start KYC1.
2. Choose document type. Pick the document you intend to use (passport / national ID / residence permit, depending on country).
3. Photograph your document. Position the document inside the on-screen frame. The camera auto-captures once edges and text are sharp. Avoid glare and shadows.
4. Review OCR results. v1.6.0 OCR extracts: document number, name, date of birth, country, and expiry date. Each field shows the original text on the document next to the extracted value, so you can correct any mis-read in place.
5. Selfie liveness. Follow the on-screen prompts to look at the camera and complete a short head turn. This step verifies you match the document.
6. Submit. Confirm with Passkey or your standard security verification. KYC1 is usually approved within minutes; you will receive an in-app message and a system notification.
