Updated today

v1.6.0 makes applying for an MPChat card a true one-tap experience. You no longer need to type a billing address, and Passkey lets you confirm in a second. This article walks you through the new flow end to end.

How to apply for an MPChat card with one tap (v1.6.0 streamlined flow)

What's new in v1.6.0

The redesigned flow removes nearly every form field from the previous version:

  • No more billing address typing. Most billing-address fields are pre-filled from your KYC information; you only confirm.

  • Passkey confirmation. A single biometric confirmation replaces password + SMS challenges in the supported environments.

  • Card detail page first. The card you are applying for is shown up front, so you can see fees, limits and benefits before you commit.

  • Faster issuance. Most users finish card application in under 60 seconds.

Before you start

To use the v1.6.0 one-tap flow you need:

The application flow, step by step

  • 1. Open the card application page. Tap Wallet → My Cards → Apply for a Card, or follow the in-app entry from the home page.

  • 2. Review the card detail page. The default product in v1.6.0 is the Asia Pacific Advantage Card (Visa). The page shows: card image, fees, limits, supported regions, accepted use cases, and FAQs. Take a moment to read this — once issued, the card cannot be re-applied later.

  • 3. Confirm the application fee. v1.6.0 charges only the card application fee at this step; you will see the exact amount before confirming.

  • 4. Authenticate with Passkey. A single biometric or system PIN prompt completes the security verification. If Passkey is unavailable on your device, MPChat falls back to your standard 2FA.

  • 5. Card issued. Within seconds you will see the new card in Wallet → My Cards, ready for top-up and online use. The full card number, expiry, and CVV are revealed inside Card Detail → Show Number.

When does MPChat still ask for a billing address?

The new flow handles billing addresses in the background for almost every applicant. There are still a few rare cases where MPChat may ask you to confirm or update an address:

  • Your KYC document does not contain a usable address (e.g., a passport without an address line).

  • You change country/region after KYC, and the existing address no longer matches.

  • You apply for a future product (e.g., a physical card) that requires a delivery address.

If asked, you can fill the address inline in the same screen and continue.

If something goes wrong

The most common issues during the new flow:

  • Insufficient balance for the card fee. Top up first, then return to the same flow — your selections are preserved.

  • Passkey not yet set up. Tap Set up later to fall back to 2FA, or set up Passkey from Profile → Security Settings.

  • KYC tier not high enough. Complete KYC1 verification first, then try again.

  • Document expired. If your KYC document is expired, you cannot issue new cards. Renew via Identity document expiry: how to renew.
