What is the difference between a virtual card and a physical card?

Virtual Card : Ready to use upon application, no physical logistics involved.

  1. Virtual Card: Ready to use upon application, no physical logistics involved. Primarily used for online payments (e-commerce, subscriptions) or binding with mobile wallets (Apple Pay/Google Pay) for offline contactless payments.

  2. Physical Card: Comes with a tangible physical card. In addition to all virtual card functions, it supports cash withdrawals at ATMs (via the Boundless Card) and card-swiping at merchants that do not support contactless payments (such as hotel deposits/pre-authorizations). The Boundless Card's ATM withdrawals have a capped limit — see Are there transaction limits for the card?.
