Short answer: When you deposit USDT to your MPChat wallet, the system converts it to USD for the "Total Assets" display using the live market exchange rate. Because the USDT/USD rate can move slightly, the USD amount shown may differ a bit from the USDT amount you deposited. This is a display convention — not a fee, not a loss, and nothing is deducted. Your USDT balance remains unchanged, and USDT withdrawals are still settled by USDT amount.
🎯 What this article answers
If your question is any of the following, this article is the answer:
I deposited USDT, but the USD shown in my wallet is not exactly the same amount. Is something missing or being taken?
What exchange rate is used for USDT deposits, and why is it not always 1:1?
My USD total balance does not exactly match the USDT I deposited. Is this normal?
Was I charged a deposit fee or platform fee when depositing USDT?
📖 Why the displayed amount can differ
MPChat wallets display "Total Assets" in USD as the base currency. When you deposit USDT (via TRC20 on-chain or Binance Pay), the system converts it to USD using the market rate at that time. Since USDT/USD can fluctuate slightly, a small display difference is expected and normal.
⚠️ When this article does NOT apply
Deposit hasn't arrived (still confirming on-chain, network congestion) → see How long does a crypto deposit take to arrive?
On-chain network fees were deducted on the sending side (you sent 100 USDT but only ~99.x left the source wallet): this is an external network fee outside of MPChat. Please check the actual sent amount on the sending side.
The displayed USD appears clearly inconsistent with the market rate, or the difference seems abnormally large → please contact support.
❓ FAQ
Q1: Is this difference a fee? Did I lose anything?
No. It is not a fee and nothing is deducted. Your USDT balance is unchanged. The wallet is simply showing a USD-equivalent value in the "Total Assets" view. MPChat does not charge a deposit fee.
Q2: Which amount is used when I spend with MPCard or withdraw?
MPCard USD payments: settled against the USD amount currently shown in your wallet.
USDT withdrawal / transfer-out: settled by the actual USDT amount in your account, without another USD re-conversion at withdrawal time.
In-wallet swaps: based on the actual balance of the corresponding token in your wallet.
Q3: Will this exchange rate change over time?
USDT/USD is a market rate and may fluctuate slightly. The wallet display follows the rate at the time of conversion. If display logic is adjusted in the future, we will announce it in-app and in this Help Center.
Q4: Why is it not always 1:1? Some platforms show 1:1.
1:1 is a simplified display some platforms use. It does not mean USDT is always exactly equal to USD in the market. USDT is a USD stablecoin issued by Tether, and its market price can move slightly around USD, so wallet USD display may not be strictly 1:1 at every moment.
Q5: Will the difference look larger for bigger deposits?
The difference is mainly driven by the exchange rate at the time of conversion. With larger amounts, the absolute gap can look more noticeable, but this does not mean an extra fee is charged. Whether one large deposit or multiple smaller deposits, each entry follows the actual rate at that time.
