KYC2 is MPChat's highest identity tier. It requires a recent proof-of-address document on top of KYC1, and unlocks the highest withdrawal/transfer limits. This article shows what counts as a valid address document and walks through the upload flow.

How to complete KYC2 in MPChat (proof-of-address verification)

When you should consider KYC2

You only need KYC2 if any of the following applies:

  • You want higher withdrawal or transfer limits than KYC1 currently allows.

  • You plan to use KYC2-only perks or campaigns shown on the help center or in-app banners.

  • You are required by your local regulation to be on the higher tier.

If you have not done KYC1 yet, complete that first via How to complete KYC1 in MPChat.

What documents count as proof of address

Any of the following, dated within the last 3 months and showing your full name and full residential address, is acceptable:

  • Bank or credit card statement.

  • Utility bill (electricity, gas, water, broadband, mobile postpaid).

  • Government-issued tax statement or residency document.

  • Tenancy agreement or lease, signed by both parties.

Documents must clearly show: your full name, your full address, the document issuer, and the document date. Edited or partially redacted images are rejected.

Step-by-step KYC2 flow

  • 1. Enter the upgrade flow. Go to Profile → Identity Verification → Upgrade to KYC2.

  • 2. Confirm your address. The address pre-filled from your KYC1 document is shown; correct it if you have moved.

  • 3. Upload the document. Take a clear photo or upload a PDF/image. Make sure all four corners are inside the frame and all text is sharp.

  • 4. OCR auto-extracts key fields. v1.6.0 OCR pulls your name, address, issuer, and document date — review and correct any mis-read.

  • 5. Submit with Passkey or 2FA. Most KYC2 reviews complete within 1 business day; you will receive an in-app message when done.

What KYC2 unlocks

  • Highest tier of withdrawal limits to external bank/exchange.

  • Highest tier of card limits and per-day spending caps once you apply for an MPChat card.

  • KYC2-only perks in select campaigns.

Common rejection reasons and how to fix them

  • Document is older than 3 months. Use a more recent statement / bill.

  • Address mismatch with KYC1. Update your KYC1 address first if you have moved, otherwise re-enter the address shown on the proof.

  • Name mismatch. Ensure the proof shows the same legal name as your verified ID.

  • Photo cropped or blurry. Retake the photo on a flat, contrasting background and ensure all four corners are visible.

Frequently asked questions

I share a utility bill with my family — can I still use it?

The document must show your name. If only a family member's name is on the bill, choose another document type (bank statement, government letter, etc.).

What if my address recently changed?

Update KYC1 first to reflect the new address, then submit a proof-of-address dated after the move.

How long does KYC2 review take?

Most submissions are reviewed within 1 business day. Complex cases may take 2–3 business days; you will be notified the moment a decision is made.

Can I keep using MPChat while KYC2 is pending?

Yes. KYC2 review does not pause your KYC1 access — you continue to use cards, transfers, and other KYC1 features as normal.
