What happens when your identity document expires: restricted features and what to do

When your MPChat identity document expires, card application, card spending, transfers, red packets and withdrawals are restricted. Learn the impact and what to do to restore them.

What happens when your identity document expires

When your verified identity document expires and is not yet renewed, MPChat temporarily restricts some account features in line with compliance requirements, until you renew the document and pass review. This article explains the impact, which features are restricted, and what you need to do.

What expiry means

While your document is expired and not renewed, the features below are suspended; they are restored automatically once your renewal passes review. Basic features such as login and chat are not affected.

Restricted features

  • Card application

  • Card spending

  • Transfers

  • Sending red packets

  • Withdrawals

What you need to do

Go to Me > Identity Verification and renew your identity document at Tier-1 verification. After you submit, wait for review; restricted features are restored automatically once it passes.
