How do I reset my account password?

Learn how to reset your MPChat account password easily, whether you're logged in or logged out, with step-by-step instructions.

Password Reset Rules

To ensure account security, your login/Passkey must meet the following format requirements:

Length Requirement: Must be 6-12 characters long.

Character Composition: Must be a combination of Numbers + Letters.

Note: Pure numbers, pure letters, or special symbols are not supported. If the setup fails, please check if the password exceeds 12 characters or is fewer than 6 characters.

If the Account is Logged Out:

1.Users can find the login entry point on the Wallet or Account page, enter the Email/Phone Number - click Log In - click Forgot Password - click Next.

2.Select the verification option, enter the new login password. After entering the new password, you need to confirm the password again. Submit the modification once confirmed.

If the Account is Already Logged In:

1.Open the MPChat app, click My > Security Center > Login Password.

2.Click Reset Password > Choose either Email/Phone Number for verification > After completing the verification, enter the new login password. After entering the new password, you need to confirm the password again. Submit the modification once confirmed.


v1.5.0 update: this article was written before the Passkey rollout. Starting with MPChat v1.5.0, every sensitive verification is now done with a Passkey — the legacy 6-digit payment password is retired. See MPChat Passkey overview for the current flows.
