How to reissue a virtual card, fees, and card expiry

Reissue a MPChat virtual card (first 5 USD, then 10 USD; 31-day gap). Card number stays the same; CVV and expiry update. Virtual cards last 3 years.

⚡ Quick summary

  • First reissue 5 USD; each later reissue 10 USD; gap must be greater than 31 days.

  • After reissue the card number stays the same; CVV and expiry update. Rewards balance cannot pay the fee.

  • Virtual cards are valid for 3 years and are auto-replaced at expiry — no new application needed.

📖 Overview

If a virtual card's CVV was exposed, expiry is near, or you need refreshed security details, you can reissue / replace the card in the App. Deleting or canceling a card is a different path with different fees — see Related articles.

💰 Reissue fees

Item

Fee / rule

First reissue

5 USD

Each later reissue

10 USD

Gap between reissues

Must be greater than 31 days

Payment

Account balance (rewards balance not accepted)

Processing time

About 5–10 minutes after submit

The same fee appears in MPChat Card Limits and Fees as the Card Reissue / Replacement Fee row.

🔑 How to reissue

  1. Open the MPChat App and go to Card > Manage > Reissue.

  2. Confirm the fee and pay (first reissue 5 USD).

  3. After payment, the card number stays the same; CVV and expiry are updated.

⚠️ Notes

  • Keep enough balance; rewards cannot pay the reissue fee.

  • Updates usually finish in 5–10 minutes.

  • If the card is linked to merchants (subscriptions, wallets), update CVV and expiry on those platforms after reissue so renewals keep working.

📅 Card expiry

Virtual cards are valid for 3 years. At expiry the system automatically issues a replacement virtual card — you do not need to re-apply, and auto-replacement at expiry is not charged as a reissue.

🗑️ Want to delete instead of reissue?

If you only need a break, prefer free Freeze. A true delete charges a cancellation/settlement fee; the card-opening fee is not refunded and the card cannot be restored. See:
