⚡ Quick summary (TL;DR)
Understand chargebacks and a prevention checklist: balance buffers, accurate fields, card status, and banned merchants.
Keep egress region, billing address, and card details aligned; leave a balance buffer; do not rapid-retry payments.
This guide is for MPChat Pay & MPCard (Cloud / Flash / Boundless).
📖 Overview
Most problems with using your card are related to "chargebacks." Understanding this article can greatly reduce the risk of your card being frozen or canceled.
First understand what “chargeback” is
Chargeback refers to disputes/expenses arising from transactions that fail or are revoked for various reasons after they are initiated. Common triggers:
Insufficient balance in the card (consumption amount not covered + handling fee)
Attempting to charge money even when the card is frozen/deactivated
The merchant failed to deduct money repeatedly.
Incorrect billing address/card information leads to verification failure
The bank will calculate the chargeback rate of each account. If the chargeback rate is too high, it will affect the fees and even the card eligibility.
Must do before consumption (to prevent chargebacks)
Balance buffer: Make sure the card balance > consumption amount + handling fee (it is recommended to leave more).
Fill in the correct information: card number, expiry date, CVV, and billing address are checked one by one. For details, see "How to fill in the billing address in the subscription scenario?" 》.
Confirm the card status: the card has not been frozen/deactivated before initiating payment.
Avoid restricted merchants: Do not spend at categories/merchants listed in the "MPCard Prohibited Consumption Scenarios".
Pay special attention to subscription scenarios
Subscription merchants (such as AI, streaming media) have complex risk controls, and any card may fail to charge:
Before subscribing, make sure your balance is sufficient to deduct the subscription fee + handling fee.
Multiple failed deductions will not cause the card to be frozen, but it may be risk controlled by the merchant or the account will be blacklisted; insufficient balance will only cause the transaction to fail/reject payment.
Please cancel your subscription in time for services you no longer use to avoid repeated deductions.
The success rate of a single service is affected by many factors such as account risk control and IP, and the platform cannot guarantee success.
Freezing and unfreezing cards
A card freezes in only two cases: (1) you freeze it yourself in the App (self-service unfreeze anytime); (2) 3 wrong CVV entries within 24 hours trigger an automatic issuer freeze (not self-service; contact official support, who sends a letter to the issuer requesting unfreeze, then wait for issuer confirmation). Insufficient balance does not freeze the card — it only declines that transaction. Top up (including a fee buffer) and retry.
For details, see "Are frozen cards permanent?" Can it be defrosted? 》.
Cancel card (cancel)
Card cancellation (cancellation) can only be triggered by the user's active operation within the App. Cards will not be automatically canceled by the system due to insufficient balance, chargeback or violation of regulations.
Card cancellation fee: Card deletion/cancellation clearing fee 3 USDT
Balance return: The balance in the card must be transferred back to the Pay account before canceling; a 3 USDT cancellation clearing fee will be deducted when deleting the card. It is not recommended to give priority to "Freeze" (free) for the time being.
For details, see "I no longer want to use this card. Are there any fees for deleting/cancelling the card?" 》Will the money in the card be refunded if I cancel it?.
What to do if charges are stolen/abnormal deductions are made
Freeze the card immediately and check transaction records.
Refer to "What should I do if money keeps being automatically deducted from my card?" (Guide to Auditing and Interception)" "What should I do if my card is stolen? 》.
Never disclose your card number/CVV/expiry date to others through chat software or screenshots.
Quick checklist
☐ Balance > Spending amount + handling fee
☐ Card information and billing address are filled in correctly
☐ The card status is normal (not frozen)
☐ The merchant is not on the prohibited list
☐ Unused subscriptions have been canceled
