⚡ Quick summary (TL;DR)
After a risk freeze: self-check, prepare appeal materials, follow unfreeze paths, and avoid blind payment retries.
Keep egress region, billing address, and card details aligned; leave a balance buffer; do not rapid-retry payments.
This guide is for MPChat Pay & MPCard (Cloud / Flash / Boundless).
📖 Overview
How to save yourself when your card is frozen or your account is restricted? This article summarizes common triggering causes, self-service unfreezing steps, and scenarios in which you need to contact customer service/appeal.
Common reasons for card freezes
Card freezing only occurs in the following two situations, and there are no other triggering paths:
Reason | Description | Can you defrost yourself |
The user actively freezes | You actively click "Freeze" in the App (if you suspect that the card information has been leaked and do not use it temporarily) | Yes, you can unfreeze it in the App |
3 wrong CVV entries within 24 hours | Automatic issuer risk-control freeze to prevent theft | Not self-service; contact official support to send a letter to the issuer, then wait for issuer confirmation |
Insufficient balances, abnormal transactions, illegal consumption, etc. will not cause the card to be frozen, but will only cause the corresponding transaction to fail/reject payment; for details, please refer to the "Guide to Card Consumption, Chargeback Prevention, Anti-Freezing Cards and Card Cancellation".
Self-service unfreezing (only user-initiated freezing)
Open MPChat → "Card" → Check whether the card status is "Frozen".
Click "Unfreeze" on the card details page to restore it, which will take effect immediately and does not require manual review.
If the freeze was caused by 3 wrong CVV entries within 24 hours (risk-control freeze), there is no in-App self-service unfreeze. Contact MPChat official in-app support with the last four digits and freeze time; after identity verification, support sends a letter to the issuer requesting unfreeze; the issuer confirms and lifts it (this takes time — it is not instant).
Is the freeze permanent?
No. A user-initiated freeze can be lifted in the App anytime. A CVV risk-control freeze requires official support: support sends a letter to the issuer, and the freeze is lifted after issuer confirmation (this takes time — it is not instant).
Card cancellation (logout) is a completely independent operation that can only be actively triggered by the user within the app and has nothing to do with the reason for freezing. Please transfer the balance back to Pay before deleting the card; deleting the card will incur a cancellation and liquidation fee of 3 USDT. It is not recommended to give priority to "Freeze" (free) for the time being.

Account level restrictions (not a single card issue)
The following situations may involve the entire MPChat account:
Scenario | Recommended Action |
Unable to log in | Check password, 2FA; use the retrieval method in "Binding and Using Authenticator (2FA)" |
2FA key lost and not backed up | Contact customer service for identity verification appeal (in-app online customer service). |
KYC review failed/supplementary materials required | Follow the App prompts to resubmit documents |
The account has been suspended from using the card | Contact customer service to find out the reason and do not open a small account repeatedly to avoid this |
Suspected fraud | Freeze all cards immediately, change passwords, check 2FA |
Please be prepared when making a complaint/contacting customer service
To improve processing efficiency, it is recommended to provide:
Register email or UID
Involves the last four digits of the card
Time when the problem occurred (as precise as possible)
Recent 1–3 related transactions (merchant name, amount, success or failure)
Self-service steps that have been tried (such as recharging and unfreezing)
Related screenshots (coded card number and CVV)
Customer service entrance: Online customer service within the MPChat App (MPChat is a pure app product and does not have a web-based customer service entrance).
Prevent re-freezing
☐ Leave a buffer before consumption (amount + handling fee + balance)
☐ Cancel unused subscriptions promptly
☐ One card per account, avoid multiple accounts on one card
☐ The billing address is consistent with the card information
☐ Avoid prohibited consumption scenarios
☐ Turn on 2FA to protect your account

💬 Still having trouble?
Do not retry payments rapidly (risk systems may cool you down). Screenshot the error (mask card number & CVV), then tap the message icon in MPChat for 1:1 support.
Need an MPCard? Apply inside the MPChat App — a virtual card is usually ready in about a minute.
