Many bind/subscribe failures come down to billing address. This guide explains when a generic address is OK and when it must match exactly.
What is a billing address?
Most overseas platforms ask for a billing address (card statement mailing address) for AVS (Address Verification System). If it does not match card records, binding or payment may fail.
Three scenarios — how to fill it in
Case 1: lenient merchants — any valid US-format address
Most payment platforms check addresses loosely — a correctly formatted US address is usually enough.
Case 2: strict merchants — use the card’s designated billing address
On strict platforms, use the billing address shown at the bottom of the card details page.
Path: Card page → card details → “Billing address” at the bottom. Card > Settings > Edit billing address
⚠️ If ZIP is rejected, look up the correct ZIP for that address online and enter it.
Case 3: address rejected — try another address
If the platform says the address is invalid, generate a new US address with an address generator and retry.

Note: some tax-free state addresses may not work on certain platforms — try another state.

Does billing address affect shipping?
No. Virtual-card billing addresses are for payment verification only — not physical shipping.
What if I enter the wrong address?
AVS may fail and binding/payment may be declined. Follow Case 2/3 above.
What ZIP should I use?
A real ZIP matching city/state; on strict merchants, use the ZIP for the card’s designated address.
