Updated today

Send SMS invites to your phone contacts who are not yet on MPChat. When they install and register, an invite relationship is built automatically — and you can earn commission rewards once they apply for a card and start spending.

How to Invite Phone Contacts to MPChat via SMS

Where to send an SMS invite

Open Contacts → Add Friends → Phone Contacts. Scroll to the Invite to Join MPChat section, find the contact, and tap Invite SMS (or any part of the row). MPChat hands off to your phone's native SMS app with the recipient and message body pre-filled.

If you don't see the "Invite to Join MPChat" section, see How to Add Friends from Your Phone Contacts on MPChat for an overview of the page.

What gets sent in the SMS

The pre-filled SMS contains two things:

Recipient

The contact's name (from your phone) or their phone number, automatically populated.

Message body

Your personal H5 invite page link plus the official invite copy:

Come to MPChat for a one-stop encrypted life experience - chat, transfer, swipe to pay. Secure and reliable! Download MPChat > https://mp.net/<your-username>

The link points to your personal invite landing page (https://mp.net/<your-username>). When opened, the recipient sees your profile and a download button. Some networks may split the message into two SMS messages — this does not affect the invite link or the relationship.

How invite relationships are built

This is the part most users miss — the relationship is built silently in the background after the recipient acts:

  1. You tap Invite SMS in MPChat — the SMS is sent.

  2. The recipient taps the link in your SMS, opens your H5 invite page, and downloads MPChat.

  3. The recipient completes registration — at this moment the system automatically marks them as your invitee.

  4. Once they apply for a card and make qualifying transactions, you can earn commission rewards per the standard referral program rules.

You don't need to do anything else, and the recipient does not need to manually enter your invite code.

Multiple phone numbers for one contact

If a single contact has multiple phone numbers in your address book, MPChat lists each number as a separate row so you can choose which one to invite (or invite both).

Notification when your invitee registers

If you've granted contact access, you will receive an MPChat notification the moment one of your invited contacts completes registration:

MPChat Notification
A friend from your phone contacts has joined MPChat! Go say hi~

Tapping the notification opens the new user's profile so you can send a friend request right away.

Common pitfalls

  • Recipient doesn't tap the link → no invite relationship is created. The relationship is anchored to the link in the SMS, not just the SMS being sent.

  • Recipient downloads from another source first → if they install MPChat without ever opening your H5 link, the invite relationship is not created.

  • Carrier splits the SMS → harmless. The invite link and parameters arrive intact.

Privacy and what we don't do

We do not read or store the SMS content beyond what's needed to construct your invite link. The phone number you invite stays on your device — see Why MPChat Needs Contact Access for the full data policy.
