⚡ Quick summary (TL;DR)
Bot deactivated: avatar and profile show a deactivated look; you can scroll history but cannot send or tap commands.
MiniApp removed: no failure toast; the top-right usually only offers Close.
If it won’t open: check whether the bot is deactivated or the app was removed, then contact whoever runs that bot.
📖 Overview
Developers may deactivate a bot or remove a MiniApp. Chat history often remains, but fewer actions work. Knowing the signs helps you avoid blaming your network or account.
👻 What a deactivated bot looks like
The avatar and profile page use a deactivated style to show the bot is unavailable.
Tapping the avatar still opens the profile for basic info, but you can no longer interact like with an active bot.
📖 Private chat becomes read-only
The private chat hides the input field and the top-right more (⋯) menu.
You can still scroll history, but tappable commands and similar actions are disabled so you do not send by mistake.
🚫 Pickers and share lists
When sharing a contact, inviting to a group, or picking people, deactivated bots, users, and groups are usually filtered out so you do not pick something unusable.
📦 After a MiniApp is removed
Failure toasts that say the app cannot open are no longer shown.
If you still reach a related screen, the top-right usually only offers Close — no further actions.
✅ What to check when it won’t open
Whether the bot avatar or profile already shows the deactivated style.
Whether the MiniApp only offers Close and nothing else (it may have been removed).
Then ask the bot/app provider about maintenance or a move; you can also report what you see to MPChat support (support cannot restore a service the developer deactivated).
