What happens when you open a MiniApp

The first-time confirmation with four buttons, when it stops asking, external links via the profile card, in-group chat bubbles, and changes to recent apps and sharing.

⚡ Quick summary (TL;DR)

  • First open: a confirmation explains the content comes from that bot — four buttons for more info, privacy policy, open, or cancel.

  • After you agree it won’t ask again; if you always cancel, it asks every time.

  • From an external link: you land on the bound bot’s profile first, then open the app — and Start may be completed for you if needed.

📖 Overview

A MiniApp is a web app that opens inside MPChat, usually provided by a bot. You may see a confirmation first; in groups you can also chat with members without leaving the app.

🛡️ First-time confirmation

The first time you open a MiniApp, a confirmation explains that the content comes from that bot and asks you to choose:

  • More about this bot: opens the bot’s profile page.

  • Privacy policy: opens MPChat’s privacy policy.

  • Open app: enters the MiniApp.

  • Cancel: closes the dialog without opening the app.

ℹ️ Will it ask again?

After you tap Open and agree, the same MiniApp usually won’t ask again. If you always cancel, it will keep asking on later opens.

🔗 Arriving from an external link

  1. You first land on the profile card of the bot bound to that MiniApp.

  2. Then tap an Open App control to enter the chat, where the confirmation may appear.

  3. If you have not Started that bot yet, opening the app after confirmation may also establish the relationship for you.

💬 Chat bubbles in a group

When you open a MiniApp from a group, you can talk to members with chat bubbles without leaving the app. Turn it off in settings if you prefer; the preference is stored on this device.

📂 What changed in the entry points

  • Recent apps only lists MiniApps created by bots.

  • The old group-apps control in the group’s top-right corner has been removed.

  • Sharing sends a link only — it may look like a preview card, not the old “app card” style.
