Why did my purchase or subscription payment fail?

Updated over a month ago

If your transaction was unsuccessful, it is usually caused by one of the following two reasons. Please troubleshoot based on the specific prompt you received:

1. Insufficient Balance (Common in subscription billing)

  • Phenomenon: Your monthly subscription services (such as Netflix, ChatGPT, Spotify, etc.) are declined during automatic renewal.

  • Reason: When the subscription provider initiates an automatic deduction, your card balance is insufficient.

  • Solution: Please ensure you have an adequate USDT balance in your account. After topping up, the merchant will usually attempt to charge the card again, or you can manually go to the merchant's page to re-initiate payment.

2. Bank-Side Risk Control Block (Marked with an "Exclamation Mark")

  • Phenomenon: In the transaction details page, the payment shows as failed with an exclamation mark, and the message states "Transaction cannot be completed due to risk control or merchant reasons."

  • Reason: This is a restriction from the issuing bank. It means the specific card type (card BIN) you are using is not supported for transactions at this particular merchant or platform.

  • Note: Certain card types (e.g., US Advantage - Purple Card) may have restrictions on specific high-risk or specific categories of merchants.

  • Solution: This type of block is mandatory. We recommend that you:

    • Try using a different type of card within MPChat to make the payment.

    • Use an alternative payment method for that merchant.
