⚡ Quick summary
Changing your phone number or email, changing or resetting your password, and resetting or unbinding Google now need only Passkey verification.
If you have no Passkey, you are guided to add one first and then continue.
Changing phone or email, changing your password and resetting Google trigger a 24-hour limit on withdrawals, transfers and red packets.
📖 Change phone or email, update your password, or unbind Google in Security Center
From version 2.2.5 these actions in Security Center check only your Passkey. You used to verify two security items; now it is just this one, and once it passes you can continue.
🔑 1. Which actions this covers
Change phone number
Change email
Set or change the login password, or reset it when you are not logged in
Reset Google binding
Unbind Google
📝 2. The flow
Go to My > Security Center and tap the entry you need (change phone / email, login password, Google binding).
A security reminder overlay appears on the current page; tap continue.
You already have a Passkey: you go straight to the Passkey verification page and complete it.
You do not have a Passkey yet: a prompt appears; tap “Add now” to open the Add Passkey page, then continue once it is added.
After verification passes, the matching settings page opens and the remaining steps are the same as before.
The input fields on the bind phone, bind email and set / change password pages also have a new look. How you fill them in has not changed.
🔗 3. Unbinding Google
Under My > Security Center > Google binding, there is now an Unbind entry below the “Reset Google binding” button. Tap it, continue on the security reminder, then verify your Passkey (same logic as above). Once it passes, Google is unbound automatically.
After unbinding, these places update together:
The Google binding status in Security Center: from Bound to Not bound.
The verification items on the security verification page: Google is no longer included.
Google on the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) page: shows Not bound. If Google verification was on, it stops taking effect automatically.
⏱️ 4. The 24-hour limit
After you change your phone or email, change or reset the login password, or reset the Google binding, the account has a 24-hour limit on withdrawals, transfers and red packets. Chatting, receiving red packets, viewing card details and card spending are not affected. For the exact scope see How to reset your MPChat Passkey.
❓ FAQ
My Passkey does not work. Can I still change these?
Reset the Passkey first: after logging in, reset it in Security Center with a face check; steps are in How to reset your MPChat Passkey. Accounts without KYC cannot reset it themselves; contact [email protected].
Why am I no longer asked for an SMS or email code?
These actions are now verified by Passkey, which is safer and takes fewer steps. 2FA rules at login are unchanged; see Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) at login.
Can I bind Google again after unbinding?
Yes, any time from the Google binding entry. Steps are in Bind and use an authenticator app (2FA).
